Activities In Times Of MCO
Inner Wheel Club of Penang
27 March & 5 April 2020
The Movement Control Order (MCO) due to Covid-19 in Malaysia forced us in principle to stop all outdoor activities in order to prevent spreading of the virus. Nonetheless, we could accomplish some very valuable services to society.
The Inner Wheel Club of Penang donated 50,000 pieces of long-sleeve disposable aprons for the Covid-19 care workers in the front line of the Hospital Pulau Pinang on 27 March 2020. To reach the hospital and to provide immediate help we bought the aprons and delivered them directly to the respective departments in the hospital.
Little Sisters of the Poor, a home run by Catholic nuns, at Batu Lancang Lane in Air Itam, Penang called for help as they are in dire need of food. This is a home for the aged and poor people with no family. On 5 April, Club President Datin Jacintha Aloysius went to the home and delivered rice, milk powder, oil and other food essentials to mitigate some of the worries.
Our contributions have been very highly appreciated.
