Gift of chocolates for two children's homes
Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur
28 August 2021
Children from two Homes in the Klang Valley were gifted with two bars of premium chocolates each, courtesy of IWCKL. The 2-day projects were led by IPP Caylize Ong-Sabado with the blessings of President Jinny Lum, who was unable to be on hand due to MCO restrictions.
On 26 August 2021, IPP Caylize accompanied by PP Ooi Bee Ngoh and member Angie Tai, paid a visit to Rumah Sayangan, a children’s home in Taman Billion, Cheras. It houses 13 underprivileged children and orphans. Three caretakers see to their needs. The children go to schools nearby and the Home tries to apply for government aid and any scholarship on offer. Parents or relatives can take their kids home during the holidays.
On 28 August 2021, a visit was made to Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) in Subang. This is a non-profit organisation and a Home for orphans and girls from poor families. There are 30 girls here, aged between five and 20 years. Teenagers between the ages of 17 to 20 years attend a one-year vocational training course in sewing. IPP Caylize, CC Lena Chua and member Angie Tai presented each child and their caretakers with two bars of chocolates.
The premium chocolates meant for the export market, were donated by Beryls of Malaysia. It was heartwarming to see the delight written on all their faces upon receiving the gift. One that truly made their day.
