DC's visit and Deepavali gathering
Inner Wheel Club of Bangsar
14 November 2021
The Inner Wheel Club of Bangsar held a Deepavali 2021 gathering with District Chairman Datin Shamini Nair as the guest of honour, in conjunction with the DC’s first physical Club visit after the lifting of the inter-district travel restrictions.
The Meeting began with the DC lighting the ‘kuttu vilaku’, a tradition that symbolises the festival of lights. Before the Meeting proper started, the DC shared her experiences and fond memories as she has known some of the Club members for over 11 years. She also spoke on official matters, such as new member recruitment, projects for women and children in line with the theme of Pink First, proper maintenance of the charity account and regular social media updates. She is very pleased with IWC of Bangsar’s projects, namely the donation of tablets to needy students and the cyber-security webinar.
After the Meeting, members enjoyed a scrumptious home-cooked array of delectable Indian cuisine. An added event was the cake-cutting ceremony to revel in the November birthdays of members.
It was indeed an evening of grandeur, which saw members renewing friendship and cherishing being together after a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns. A huge thank you to DC Shamini for making this occasion an even more special and memorable one.
