IWCKL donates to Persatuan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Kajang

It was a dreary overcast morning, but this did not deter 8 members of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL), headed by President Jinny Lum, to make their way to the Persatuan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Kajang (PKIK) to complete a project brought forward from Immediate Past President (IPP) Caylize Ong-Sabado’s term. The project was pending completion due to the Movement Control Order which prohibited inter-district crossing.
The members were warmly welcomed by the Director, Ms. Kong, who could not thank IWCKL enough for the 4 Nano water filters, art and handicraft items, milk powder, cereals, biscuits, 2 boxes of fruits, 20 T-shirts and 100 cans of cocoa powder. Past National Representative Juanita Lee even sponsored 2 trays of delectable Nyonya kuih, not forgetting member PP Lan Mee Kong, also a volunteer at this Centre, who provided packed lunch for everyone. To cap it all, President Jinny handed a cash donation of RM1,200 from IWCKL and other members.
PKIK is a non-governmental organisation for children or persons with various degrees of learning disabilities, also termed as global developmental delay. Their mission is to help in their overall development and towards a life as independent as possible. To date, there are 77 children and 16 staff members. They hope to move to a more conducive environment in the near future.
This Centre is close to the members’ hearts and IWCKL has been giving unconditional support to them for many years now. The Club is indeed delighted to be able to finally complete this project before 2021 comes to a close. Warmest thanks to all who made this possible.
