Support during Christmas for Grace Home in Klang

IWC Subang Selangor brought Christmas Cheer to Grace Home in Pandamaran, Klang. This home houses old folks who need supplements and some medications. The Chairman Mr. Desmond, sent a list of items that is urgently required. They also needed a vacuum cleaner, ceiling fan, large water boiler and a wish for a KFC meal for Christmas.
IWC Subang’s Shoba Aiyar visited the centre and presented the vacuum cleaner, fan, large water boiler, glucosamine, fish oil, vitamin C, yoko yoko and plasters. These were purchased by Shoba’s son and his friends.
Providing the KFC lunch on Christmas Day turned out to be no easy feat. All the KFC outlets had insufficient stocks due to the floods. President Indira alerted the Home of the situation and of a possible postponement. However, Club Treasurer Malliga called around different outlets and finally found one which could provide the meal, but did not offer delivery service. Malliga went and got the order herself. She delivered with a little delay and she was greeted with enthusiastic cheers of ‘Lai Liao’ (food is here) from the residents. The happy faces of the residents were a delight to behold.
Malliga also delivered the rest of the pharmaceutical items needed, along with the large water boiler. IWC Subang is proud of the tireless efforts of President Indira and Treasurer Malliga and all members who contributed to bring joy to the unfortunate during this month of sharing and caring.
