Seven members of the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth led by President Santhi Sundra took advantage of the holidays and the relaxed Movement Control Order which allows going out whilst keeping numbers small, social distancing and being masked. The ladies participated in a long-delayed fellowship event at ‘The Top’ at Komtar in Georgetown, Penang. Charter member Aasha helped coordinate the effort and smoothly organised the physical get-together after a really long spell of meeting only virtually. Members dressed in casual wear and comfortable sports shoes, car-pooled and engaged with one another for a few hours.

Laughing all the way, they enjoyed the view of Georgetown first from the Observatory with its glass walkway on the 65th Floor where they could look down at the world passing by under their feet. Then they made their way to Level 68 with the Rainbow Sky-Walk which is part of and open-air area and has a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway set at an elevation of 820 feet above the ground and offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the city, harbour and even the mainland at a distance.

After posing for photographs, they adjourned for drinks at the adjacent Top View revolving restaurant and chatted as they waited to go back to the mainland for tea which was prearranged at a popular restaurant in Bukit Mertajam. Being a relatively new club, it was a good chance for members to get to know one another better and state their preferences as to the activities they would like to participate in which they did over sumptuous cups of masala tea and delicious freshly made snacks. Before calling it a day, they planned their next get-together and called for more fun-filled fellowships. Everyone had a wonderful time, loved the company and easy camaraderie typical of Inner Wheel sisterhood.
