On 10th of February 2022, the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) ‘killed three birds with a stone’, as the saying goes. All were held at the Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur Chinatown.

Members who attended were mindful about observing the strict SOPs, seeing the recent spike in Covid-19 cases.

The General Meeting was conducted in the Luncheon Hall, and after the business of the day was concluded, President Jinny Lum proceeded with the cheque presentation ceremony to Sekolah Menengah Jinjang, KL. Ms Choong Chooi Keng, a senior teacher who represented the Grade A school was overwhelmed with the RM 10,000 donation, and effusive with her thanks. The school has a population of 2000-odd students, majority of whom come from financially- challenged backgrounds. IWCKL has been one of their beacons of hope for many years now, and this year is no different. Heartfelt gratitude goes to the Club and the members for their immeasurable generosity to a deserving cause.

Then came the fun part of the day. The Organising Committee headed by Datin Gerardine, certainly pulled out all the stops to make the Chinese New Year Fellowship a superb occasion. From the backdrop for the photo-shoot to the table decor, each so beautifully curated by Past National Representative (PNR), Juanita Lee, the hall was indeed a sight to behold! Then came the highlight of the afternoon- a performance by PNR Juanita, PP Margaret and Lynn, who enacted a Master Trainer taming two incorrigible tigers. The audience was hugely entertained.

IWCKL was honoured to have Toh Puan Dr. Aishah Ong as its guest of honour, along with Immediate Past District Chairman, Shanti Menon and Bill Keith, a renowned fashion designer for taking time off to grace the occasion.

Benjamin and his Band was more icing on the cake; the members had a roaring time singing and dancing along with their music. Coupled with the excellent food, a Ms Chinatown contest, quizzes, a medley of songs by IWCKL songbirds and lucky draws, everyone went home truly replete.

The Organising Committee certainly outdid themselves. IWC KL thanks all involved for the stupendous effort. It hopes this new Lunar Year of the Water Tiger brings bountiful Blessings to all members of the Inner Wheel Clubs of District 330.
