On the 12th February 2022, the Inner Club of Johor Bahru embarked on yet another fruitful project. This time it was about saving the environment. The idea started when the club participated in and won the ‘Go Green’ project in 2019-2020. It received RM500.00 from then District Chairman Padmini Menon whose brainchild it was to initiate an environment project.

President Sumathi felt that it was only right to use this prize money on something to do with the environment. Project Leader Amy Nair came up with the idea of planting Mangrove trees at Tanjung Piai which is at the Southernmost tip of Continental Asia. It was a fun filled and beautiful sunny day spent with family and friends.

The day started with the planting of seedlings in the nursery and in another 3 to 4 months the young mangrove saplings will be planted along the beach. The club will definitely follow up on this and hopes to be there to do the planting of the sprouting mangrove. After the planting of the seedlings and a long walk along the Coast, the day ended with a nice seafood lunch at a nearby seafood restaurant.
