A meal for the soup kitchen visitors

The customers of the THB Soup Kitchen in Alor Setar have captured a special place in the hearts of the members of the Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar (IWC AS). The Club has stepped up several times to sponsor special meals for their vistitors, the last one being to usher in the Festival of Lights. In the process, members have become acquainted with several visitors who are always happy to be greeted with a smile and share briefly how their day has been.
In honour of her late father, Dr. Pushpanathan’s birthday on 5 March 2022, President Pavitratha could not think of a better way to celebrate the life and times of her father than sponsoring a meal for 150 visitors to the THB Soup Kitchen. Plans were laid down to meet in the Soup Kitchen on that day to help pack and distribute the food packs. The members looked forward to exchange pleasantries with the regulars who used to break into a smile every time the members were present to help give away the food packs.
Unfortunately, this time around, plans to be present physically were thwarted by the exponential spike in COVID-19 cases, especially in the Kota Setar District.
The staff of the Soup Kitchen were happy to help and sent photos of the food distribution on 6 March 2022, a day when President Pavitratha and members would have loved to be present physically.
Notwithstanding members’ absence at the Soup Kitchen, President Pavitratha was happy that she could fondly remember her dearly departed father and at the same time, ensure IWC AS is always out there to help the deserving.
