IWC Butterworth’s Charter Member Aasha Nambiar is an outdoor enthusiast and is often called upon to suggest places of Visit for Club members. On 9th April 2022, she took advantage of the good weather and led a team of five to Kampung Agung, an Agro-themed Park surrounded by picturesque coconut groves, paddy fields and authentic Kampung houses, in Penaga on the Mainland of Penang state.

President Santhi Sundara, District Webmaster Lucy Barrock, Auditor Narinjan Kaur and Club Member Molly Anne Morris were transported to a breath-taking experience of an authentic rural setting, fresh air, swaying coconut palms and paddy fields by Aasha. She also very generously doubled up as a photographer and everyone was spoilt for choice as to the locales for posing.

The owners had very thoughtfully erected attractive props for photo opportunities and the ladies took full advantage of this. Every now and then a friendly fellow-visitor was called upon to help photograph the whole group.

The ladies adjourned for Hi-tea and exchanged knowledge gleaned from all the reading done and videos watched during the pandemic lockdowns. They had a rip-roaring time laughing through some sharing and stayed back for so long that they were the last customers out of Saravanas Restaurant in Butterworth.

Members will for sure be looking to Aasha to organise another outing for them soon. What more can one ask for than good company in scenic surroundings followed by sumptuous food.
