IWCKL donates a freezer to ractar orphanage

On 8th June 2022, 18 members from the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) descended on Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR) to donate a 7-drawer freezer for their Bakery Project. RACTAR is a non-profit organisation (NGO) and is a Home for orphans and poor girls from ages 5-20. Teenagers there are given some vocational training,and to date there are about 61 girls . The Home constantly needs volunteers to help the girls with their education. Their Bakery, which supplies cookies, biscuits and frozen pastries for sale, certainly could do with all the support they could get. The proceeds go towards the Fund for their education.
The ladies were impressed with the level of quality as well as the presentation of the said products. Credit must be given to their baking tutors for imparting such skill to their charges. The presentation ceremony was held at their newly-opened multi-purpose hall, DESTAR, which is able to cater for various events.
RACTAR’s Royal Patron, Tengku Puteri Nor Zehan, together with their deputy president, Datin Nurfiah gave the members a warm welcome, complete with two performances from the girls,and a wonderful spread for tea. Due to the absence of President Jinny Lum, Project Coordinator, Puan Sri Nora did the honours on her behalf, together with Past President Robin.
In her speech of welcome Tengku Puteri thanked the Club for the years of support rendered. All these would not have been possible if not for the generosity of the members of IWCKL.
With that, the club concludes the Hari Raya Projects, and just in time before the term of 2021-2022 ends. And what an exhilarating, empowering and uplifting year it all had been. Thank you one, thank you all dear members of IWCKL!
