Opening of borders

Normalcy has finally returned and geographical borders are open after the long-drawn pandemic. It is heartening to see that families separated by international borders are now able to have reunions.
Some members of IWCSS (Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor) have commenced travel internationally. They did not delay in making contact with IW clubs wherever they were. They were able to achieve one of the objectives of Inner Wheel, which is international understanding and friendship
DNR Parimala Satheesan attended the 16th Triennial Conference organised by Inner Wheel India, in Varanasi, India in April 2022. It was exciting for her to meet old friends and at the same time create new bonds of friendship. Parimala who does not miss these triennial conferences (which take place every 3 years) participated in the business session and was amazed how committed the clubs are and how they are growing from strength to strength. India has Inner Wheel organisation deeply rooted and widespread throughout the country.
IPDC Shanti Menon of IWCSS had a family vacation in Scotland in early May. She took this opportunity to meet District Chairman Joann Allan and District Vice Chairman Caroline Berwick of District 23, Great Britain & Ireland. They arranged to meet Shanti in Glasgow and they had a great time establishing friendship and exchanging views. They hope to meet again at the centenary celebration in 2024 in the United Kingdom.
Mekala Sockalingam, committee member recently visited Trichy, India. She met up with 3 IW clubs namely IWC Trichy Main, IWC Malaikottai and IWC Triachirapalli Metro. The Past President of IWC Malaikottai Ms. Andrew Mary Sekar, Shanthi Ravichandran, Association Council Member of IW District 321 and members arranged a lovely welcome and flag exchange for Mekala. She was informed of the various undertaking by these clubs whilst Mekala gave a brief on the achievements of IWCSS.
IWCSS hopes to continue establishing friendship across borders and sharing of ideas and viewpoints now that international travel is on.
