The joy of meeting each other physically for the first time since the International Service Organisers (ISOs) of District 330 took office was indeed exciting and knew no bounds. This getaway of three days was to be the grand finale of this dedicated team of ladies who served their clubs and the district extremely well in term 2021-2022 with District International Service Organiser Datin Pathma Ramanathan at the helm.

Upon arrival in the beautiful city of Taiping, a delicious banana leaf lunch was devoured, which was followed by sumptuous High Tea at the beautiful hill top villa of Past President (PP) and curent ISO Viji Kishen of the Inner Wheel Club of Taiping (IWC Taiping). This was the start of 3 days of bonding and making new friends.

IWC Taiping’s members also joined the ISOs for a Chinese dinner with lots of good food, fun and fellowship. With the warm hospitality and camaraderie, it was indeed a great evening of fun for the ladies.

The highlight of the getaway, was the much-awaited pyjama party which will be fondly remembered forever! Unforgettable activities behind closed doors and sharing were the order of the day.

Taiping being a food haven with countless choices and varieties of gastronomic fare, the only decision for the visitors to make was whether “to eat or not “.

Activities organised included a morning-walk at the famous Lake Gardens which was followed by a little bit of shopping in Little India, a Rojak party and a seafood dinner at Kuala Sepetang fishing-village. The ladies took in the lovely sunset-views, the amazing sight of eagles flying high and little fishing boats all around which gave endless photo opportunities.

There were also never-ending stories to share till the very tail-end of the trip practically. It was one of those short and sweetest of times which just flew by so fast.

All too soon it was time to check out, down a quick breakfast and reluctantly say goodbye, sharing many hugs and more as the visitors headed to the train station for the return journey home. New friends bring new beginnings, as the wheel of friendship and fellowship continues.

The ISOs appreciated the efforts of Viji,  Jagdish and Harbhajan for doing all the driving, not forgetting the lovely ladies of IWC Taiping for extending their hand of friendship and expending valuable time in getting to know them.  It was indeed a great way to end the term with treasured memories created.
