IWC Subang held it’s 13th installation in style on 17th July 2022 to welcome President Tara Menon and her EXCO. PDC Shanti Menon graciously hosted this event in her stunning garden. The theme for the event was blue and yellow and the marquees, the table cloths and the members’ attires carried this beautiful colour combination.

It was a sunny day which allowed fellowship to flourish as guests mingled with host members. The beautiful portico was skilfully converted to a stage surrounded by green plants, and the installation paraphernalia was a show piece in itself catching the morning sun.

District Chairman, Krishnaveni Muttiah who was the Guest of Honour was accompanied by District Secretary Saraswathy Veloo. National Representative Parimala Satheesan along with Past District Editor Padmini Pillai and Presidents of clubs in the Klang Valley were present at the function. Emcee Jayanthi Soma did an outstanding job ensuring that the official protocols flowed smoothly. Committee members IPP Indira Menon, Jayanthi, Shamala, Sumodhini, Shanthy Chandran, Malliga, Shanti Menon and Rani were at hand attending to details.

Outgoing President Indira in her speech listed the number of projects and the funds raised during her two year term. In spite of the pandemic restricting physical meets, fifty four projects were completed and over RM150000 raised through generous donors. Incoming President Tara Menon expressed her confidence in taking on the role, and her vision to see inter-club corporations and focus on fellowship during her term.

Lunch was a time to relax, mix and mingle also enjoy the delicious food along with the variety of desserts. PDC Shanti went out of her way to get cute little succulents as table gifts for guests to take home to remember this lovely garden party.

The celebration cake with its beautiful furls and burst of stars representing the IW theme for 22-23 was masterfully crafted and cut at the end of the official program by President Tara and her committee.

The installation was a warm, cosy affair adhering to protocols, but still allowing guests and members to have an enjoyable Sunday morning in a beautiful setting. It was a much-needed gathering after more than two years of being ‘locked in, isolated and deprived of physical contact.’ IWCSS wishes President Tara Menon and her Committee all the best and pray that this pandemic is hopefully on its way out.
