It has been said that breakfast is not just the most important meal of the day;  it is also the time for the most fruitful meetings. This was certainly proven true when IWC of Alor Setar (IWC AS) held its second meeting for the 2022-2023 term after a delicious and ‘spoilt for choice’ breakfast.

Held at the home of members Padmini and Shantha on 8 October 2022, members who arrived early were delighted with the spread, ranging from the quintessential nasi lemak to a delectable choice of typical Malaysian  cuisines.  “We are stuffed and caffeinated and ready for the Meeting”, echoed the members in unison, as the spread on the table diminished rapidly.  “That was a power breakfast indeed”, smiled another contented member.

The Meeting that ensued led to several decisions being made, specifically in terms of the plans for the next few months, including a Seminar for fresh graduates and school leavers on the art of resume writing  and career development, participation at a carnival, a briefing session on everything to know about IIW for new members, and a visit cum fellowship to the Baling District which was devastated by a massive deluge a few months earlier. An interesting brainstorming session also led to preliminary plans being formulated for the International Women’s Day which the Club will be hosting in 2023.

A well organised morning breakfast certainly creates a more upbeat atmosphere for a productive meeting.  The day ended with members expressing a huge vote of thanks to the hosts and looking forward to ensuring that all the plans laid out quickly morph into WORK WONDERS  activities, which can benefit the public at large, generally, and women and children, specifically.
