It had been raining continuously on 3rd December 2022 and there were predictions for more wet weather. President Datin Santhi Sundara who had been in Australia for a couple of weeks had just flown in earlier that day after a flight delay which resulted in an unexpected further stay at a hotel the night before.

District Webmaster Lucy Barrock was facing uncertainty due to an ongoing water supply disruption in Seberang Perai although the taps still ran but with low pressure. District Secretary Saraswathy Veloo had back-to-back events for the duration of her short trip to Penang.

Yet as they say, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way.’ Braving the pouring rain and lack of parking at the hotel, the two members of the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth met up with the Inner Wheel Club of Klang’s own DS Saras as she is fondly called, for a quick bite and to cement ties.

The ladies chatted and exchanged views on a wide range of topics from Inner Wheel to the recently concluded Malaysian elections and the country’s brand-new cabinet. They were happily able to partake of one another’s dishes as all three are vegetarians.

‘All good things must come to an end’, according to the idiom but not before some memories were captured for posterity. The staff at the Light Hotel in Seberang Jaya were ever so obliging and yet another personal friendship was established along with inter-club ties within District 330.
