World Aids Day
Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh East

In conjunction with World Aids Day 2022, Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh East collaborated with Inner Wheel Club of Klang, Malaysian AIDS council and Malaysian Medical Association in order to carry out an awareness project about Aids and HIV to the public. The project was carried out by president Dr.Theyveeka from IWC Klang who has been spreading awareness under a project titled “Caring Outreach Project - No one left Behind”.
In regards to this, a visit was organised to Destiny Old Folks Welfare Association Klang for Men and Women which is made up of a large group of HIV patients. On the day of the event, special guests Dr. Saravanan, Chairman of Malaysia Medical Association (MMA Aids) and Dr.Dinesh, Vice President of Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) were invited to give the public and Club members some knowledge about AIDS and HIV.
The talks were indeed helpful as a lot of valid information was shared. Many who attended the event agreed that they had learned from the session regarding the conditions, preventive measures and also treatment that can be done. President Sarala of the Inner Wheel Club of Ipoh East donated rice packets and boxes of gloves during the event to the Home alongside President Dr. Theyveeka of the Inner Wheel Club of Klang who presented some medicines to the HIV patients.
Wrapping up the event, certificates of appreciation were handed out by MMA Aids to those involved in the event. Lunch were provided to the patients who participated and thus contributed to the success of the project.
