IWC Butterworth’s project in support of ‘Penang Goes Orange’

In conjunction with Penang Goes Orange (PGO) 2022, the Inner Wheel Club Butterworth (IWC Butterworth) organised “PGO Awareness Walk” at the “Mengkuang Dam” on 17 Dec. 2022 from 7.30 am till 9.30 am. The Dam is situated to the north east of Butterworth and is a very scenic location, with a breath-taking lake view set against hills as the backdrop.
The theme for this year’s PGO is ‘Reshape – Respect – Rebuild: Towards A Safe Penang’. The walk was aimed at raising awareness of violence against women and children.
The PGO’s orange flag was waved by Club members in a show of solidarity with the state-campaign. The ladies also wore orange-coloured t-shirts which symbolize “victory”.
Project lead Dr Lalitha Ramasamy encouraged members to be victorious in their pursuit to promote human rights and eliminate violence against women and children. IWC Butterworth truly supports PGO 2022 and all efforts in eliminating violence against women and children.
