Fellowship – Ponggal Celebration

Ponggal is the name of the Harvest Festival celebrated by South Indians of Tamil origin and is observed especially by the Hindus to thank Nature and the Sun God for a bountiful harvest. Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Klang (IWC Klang) who come from all walks of life, celebrated Ponggal at President Dr. Theyveeka’s residence at Parkland, Klang.
Fifteen members joined in the celebration on 12th January 2023 bearing pot luck dishes which added to the variety of mouth-watering delights. The 6th General meeting of IWC Klang was held to coincide with the Celebrations and the ladies made the milk and rice pudding also called Ponggal in traditional style.
Five guests were introduced and a new member Ms Kasturi, was inducted into the club. The event and meeting went very well and the ladies had a great time enjoying themselves together in Inner Wheel sisterhood.
