Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur North

On 3rd February 2023, the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (IWC KLCC) met at the Nanyang Siang Pau Press room to receive thirty pedal trainers with the total value of RM2780, a donation from the Nanyang Press Foundation.
President Karen Loo Mee Kuen received the pedals from the General Manager Mdm Kok You Yin of the Foundation. Also present were IIWPBD Datin Pearl Jai Mohan, CP/PP Datin Zaiton Palil, PDISOPP Rakhi Awan, CC Jessy Jit and Dr Andre, the Chairman of LeCadia PrimaCare Sdn Bhd.
Dr Andre received the pedals from President Karen on behalf of LeCadia PrimaCare and the Whispering Hope Bario comprising ongoing projects in the Kelabit Highlands of Sarawak. The Nanyang Press Foundation hoped that the machines will help the elderly to improve and prevent Muscular Dystrophy.
Dr Andre, in his address, said that the pedal exercisers would enhance stability and long-term health in elderly patients. He further explained that the elderly patients especially those who were not mobile, could exercise using their hands or both feet and hence develop strength in that part of the body.
CP/PP Datin Zaiton Palil who is on the board of the Nanyang Foundation, initiated the project. IIWPBD Datin Pearl hoped that this sponsorship project will continue. It was a truly satisfying day.
