Project – Layman CPR Training at SRJK Sarawathy & SRCM Ashram

On 11th February 2023, an excellent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) awareness talk, targeting laymen was given by IWC Klang’s President Dr. Theyveeka Selvy Rajoo at a Tamil school, SRJK Sarawathy, in Old Klang Road Kuala Lumpur. About 100 participants including school students and teachers were taught the importance of CPR and how many lives could be saved with knowledge of the manoeuvre. It was an eye opener to the participants.
On the 12th February 2023, a CPR awareness talk and hands on training were conducted at Shri Ram Chandra Mission Malaysia (SRCM) Ashram in Klang. About 30 participants benefited from it.
IWC Klang’s President Dr. Theyveeka’s mission is to bring awareness to the public on the importance of having basic knowledge on how to conduct CPR in emergency situations. Guided hands-on CPR training was demonstrated using mannequins & with medical equipment demonstrated by MMA and MyRes Volunteers.
President Dr Theyveeka’s intention is that at least 1 member in each family accquires the knowledge of doing CPR which can save their family members’ lives. The President also explained the methods well in layman’s term on how to save lives in the event of any choking happening with babies and adults.
Hands-on demonstrations were guided by MyRes volunteers. President Dr. Theyveeka donated Hygene Kits during both the projects. The awareness project was a collaborative effort organised by IWC Klang, MMA CPR Committee and Malaysian Resuscitation Association (MyRes).
