Workshop On Aromatherapy Candles

The Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth completed yet another Women Empowerment Workshop at Indu Illam, Butterworth which was attended by 20 participants including a few club members. The facilitator Saraladewi Subramaniam (Sara) who is from Kuala Lumpur conducted the workshop and demonstrated how to make aromatherapy candles.
Materials used included various type of waxes, essential oils and wicks to make container candles, moulded candles and wax melts. Much knowledge was imparted by Sara in this context such as the science involved and the art of candle making. Also discussed were the blending point, the pouring point as well as the curing time of the process.
Sara also shared her knowledge on branding and marketing. It was a full day workshop and three sumptuous meals were provided courtesy of the club. Participants were given certificates of attendance issued by the Inner Wheel Club Butterworth.
This was yet another noteworthy project by the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth to empower women with an alternate source of income. There are more such projects in the works planned for the coming months by President Santhi Sundara and team.
