Inner Wheel clubs take part in a wide range of work for charities and causes across the country with the aim of helping women and young girls live better lives. One of the causes is breast cancer, which affects many from all walks of life. It brings pain, and anguish to millions of people each and every year. Fighting breast cancer and helping treat those affected is one of Inner Wheel’s priorities. Through this work, members endeavour to educate and prepare communities in order to help bring awareness to and treat life-changing as well as life-threatening breast cancer.

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, the Inner Wheel Club of Klang (IWC Klang) organised a fruitful visit to Hospital Putrajaya and also the National Cancer Institute in Putrajaya. This special visit was made more memorable by the presence of International Inner Wheel (IIW) President Zenaida Yungco Farcon who hails from Philippines and was accompanied by District 330’s Chairman (DC) Krishnaveni Mutthiah.

This project was headed by President of IWC Klang Dr. Theyveeka Selvy Rajoo and a team of ten Inner Wheel members who were on hand for the Hospital-visit. IWC Klang sponsored forty-eight tins and fifty sachets of Ensure Milk which were distributed to the breast cancer patients in both hospitals for their nutrition.

The recipients were grateful to receive the milk power as well as the encouraging words from Dr. Theyveeka, also the moral support and lovely words extended to them by IIW President Zenaida and DC Krishnnaveni. The patients and the members alike experienced moving and emotional moments during the visits.

IWC Klang as part of IIW a women’s organisation, will continue to work wonders with the touch of love and sharing of other women’s pain. The Club is also grateful to the directors & their teams for the opportunity given to visit these hospitals.
