Raya festive cheer

On 10th of April 2023, the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (IWC KLCC) conducted a Hari Raya Aidil Fitri Project. Club Treasurer Bibee Menga Din together with two other members, Club ISO Vicky Changi and CC Jessy Jit went to the Rumah Jagaan dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al- Ikhlas in Puchong to spread Hari Raya cheer to the forty-five residents there in line with the ongoing Festive-Cheer Projects. The residents, men and women were delighted to meet the members.
It was heart breaking to see some confined to their beds. In spite of that, they greeted the members with brimming smiles. Many of them had sad stories to relate as they were either abandoned by their families or had no one to care of them.
The home has 18 helpers to take care of the residents under the care of retired matron Puan Muji Sulaiman and her son. The home depends on donations from the public and the club had generously responded to the home operator.
Groceries worth RM 2548.00, consisting of fresh produce, canned food, milk, eggs, Nescafe, Milo, detergents, toiletries and a microwave were handed over to the operator of the home. The Club donated RM 500 and the rest were donations from generous club members.
The members also had a great time chatting with the residents who were just so willing to share their sad stories. Club members shared their bountiful blessings to give joy, happiness and excitement to the elderly. It was indeed a gratifying festive cheer project for them.
