Committee Meeting, Health talk and fellowship

Tucked in a quiet neighbourhood just a stone’s throw away from the hotels and restaurants of Tanjung Bungah is a charming social corner called Joy 6 Club. Fifteen very animated ladies from the Inner Wheel Club of Penang descended upon this quiet and serene place.
It started with a committee meeting to discuss projects proposed by President Arvind. After the meeting, the committee regrouped with the rest of the members, and the atmosphere was charged as members greeted each other like long-lost friends.
President Arvind started the meeting with the recitation of the IW poem, Candle of Friendship. After announcements were made, the meeting ended and fellowship continued right through lunch.
A guest speaker, Dr Annamalar, an Interventional Cardiologist from Gleneagles Hospital gave an insightful talk on heart problems and shared experiences of heart cases.
It was with great pleasure IWC Penang announced that it is going to welcome another new member, Suzanne Richard; who attended the club meeting for the second time. Everyone is excited and looked forward to the induction at the next club meeting.
As there were a few new faces, DE Jillian gave an introductory talk about Inner Wheel -stressing the promoting of friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service and fostering international understanding.
As always, it was a delightful afternoon of fellowship and pleasing everybody’s stomach hosted by Faye, Jillian and Sally. Singing the birthday song and cutting a birthday cake for May babies, sparked up the fellowship even more. For many, it was a first taste of Kombucha. This fermented effervescent beverage sold by Joy 6 Club is made by autistic children.
