The installation function of Chairman (DC) Kamala A Yeap of Inner Wheel District 330 was an awesome one. Members from almost all sister clubs in the District, Rotarians, friends and relatives of club members graced the event. It started with the registration of guests by members of the host Club, the Inner Wheel Club of Apsaras. The registration was simple and fast moving and there was a smooth flow of guests to their seats. District Secretary (DS) Jillian Marie Estrop, Secretary of Inner Wheel District 330 was the master of ceremony for the occasion.
The function began with the singing of the national anthem with all the guests respectfully upstanding. The programme continued with the reading of the poem “Candle of Friendship” by District Editor Lucy Barrock and the Lighting of the Candle of Friendship by International Inner Wheel Past Board Director Datin Joan Salleh. The Roll call of Inner Wheel and Rotary Clubs was done by DS Jillian.
The Loyal Toast to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was led by District Vice Chairman (DVC) Vimala Thayaman Pillai followed by the Loyal Toast to the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan led by DS Jillian herself. National Representative of Districts 330 & 331, Datin Dr. Ramani Subramaniam gave a short message on the theme for the year 2023-2024 before leading the Toast to International Inner Wheel.
IWC Apsaras’ President Sarathambal Govindasamy welcomed all the guests and gave a short speech regarding her members and her Club’s Charter President and the incumbent DC Kamala. Immediate Past District Chairman Krishnaveni Mutthiah installed DC Kamala by putting on the collarette around her neck. The DC then gave her inaugural address about her personal life and her progress in her club from being the charter president of her club to becoming DC of Inner Wheel District 330. DC Kamala then introduced the members of her Executive Committee and presented a rose and a gift to every Exco member.
The programme proceeded to a Hi-Tea session. A variety spread of delicious food was served at every table. The guests enjoyed the food and had great fellowship with plenty of chit-chat and laughter. In addition to the Hi-Tea, the guests were entertained by a musical presentation by Zarif bin Mohd Fisal of SK St. Paul’s, Seremban, an Indian Classical Dance routine by Purvagini Takksha of University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, and ‘Fashion Enlightenment’ by students of Sinar Bakti Autism Center Rasah, Seremban, an Angklung presentation by Darshan A/L Suresh from SK St. Paul Seremban and a presentation by students of SK Rasah Jaya, Seremban.
After a time of great fellowship and friendship, the guests left the Sg. Ujong club at about 5.00 pm to spend the rest of the weekend with their families and friends.
