The 75th Installation Lunch and High Tea

The 75th Installation Lunch and High Tea of IWCKL was held at the Sapphire Ballroom, the AVANTÉ Hotel , Petaling Jaya.
The theme was Royal Ascot with derby hats and fascinator. The 150 attendants comprised IWCKL members, Sister Club Malaysia and guests of members.
The event started with the arrival of honorary Member Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Hajah Dr. Aishah Ong and all guests stood up for the Toast to the Agong. Thereafter the ceremony began for the installation of New President. Outgoing President Jinny Lum delivered a speech with the introduction of New President Rani and helped to pin the President's badge on her. President Rani also pinned the IPP badge on IPP Jinny Lum. Then she invited her ExCo team and committee to the stage and presented each with a rose of friendship and the IWCKL pin.
7 new members were inducted, and each was presented with a framed certificate.
The Entertainment Session was an afternoon of fun. IWCKL member Florence Cho performed the iconic number of the late Tina Turner “Simply the Best” with back-up dancers Datin Brenda Loh and Past President Margaret Yee. Some audience even rose up to join in the dance.
A talented 15-year-old young lady, Sera, winner of the Gold and Silver Awards of the International Singing Competition in South Korea, performed two songs, one of them was Blackpink’s “Flower” with its renowned Jisoo Flower dance routine, and the audience was invited to participate in it.
The International Designer Bill Keith showcased his new fashion collection, accompanied by 3 songs belted out by IWCKL member Florence Cho and modeling by the IWCKL members.
The fashion show was followed by the cake competition, with the high-quality entries posing many difficulties to the decision-making of the judges. After the winner was pronounced, the guests were invited to taste the delectable cakes. The winner was Lyn Wong, who was presented with a beautiful painting.
There was also a Grandma and Grandchildren fashion walk presented by Datin Brenda Loh and Ruby Tay and their grandchildren.
The Lucky Draw was the Final Event. Prizes included 3 suitcases, 6 speakers, a voucher for a 1-night stay at the Dorsett Hotel voucher, 2 vouchers for dim sum and 4 cookbooks and the lucky attendants were invariably pleased with their prizes.
The event then closed. Guests were each handed a box of scones with jam and cream as a door gift when they made their exit. It was a hugely successful Installation.
