The Annual General Meeting for IWC of Penang was held on the 29th July, 2023 at Chettiar’s Tiffin. The meeting kicked off at about 11.30 am after gathering enough quorum of 14 attendees.
The meeting started with lighting the Candle of Friendship and reciting the poem.
President Arvind Das thanked all executive members and the club members for a fruitful year, as a list of projects and club activities was called to memory in that last speech of the term. The meeting proceeded to the nomination of office bearers for the new term of 2023-2024. Mrs. Daljit Gill is the new President of the club for the year 2023/2024.
Addressing members who were present, President Daljit gave a short speech, expressing the desire to foster closer friendships with some minor projects. This is an excellent move because the past few years, MCO had robbed the sense of closeness and camaraderie among the ladies in the club.
As the agenda of the meeting came to an end, a chocolate flavour birthday cake was ready for July babies. Members sang a birthday song before VP Dr Sneh blew the candle. This was followed by some delicious Indian food, ice cream as dessert and coffee/tea.
