Sunday the 30th of July, saw IWCSS members gather at Taman Tugu for their first fellowship for the new term. Members were very relaxed as they had no installation ceremony to plan and their President Tara Menon was far away in Michigan.
After a hectic year in 2022, members decided to have a slow start for 2023-2024. Extension Chairman Shanthi Menon suggested that a picnic in a park would be a perfect way to celebrate Friendship Day. Members gathered at Taman Tugu at 8 am, attired in their star-spangled club Tees and walking shoes with bags of food for breakfast.
After the initial greetings, some set off on a nice walk while others decided to catch up and guard the food. Breakfast was the highlight of the day with a large spread of. sandwiches, curry puffs, drinks, fruits, pakoras, kesari, jelly and cakes. Nothing like a natural setting and good friends to start a Sunday morning.
Some members brought guests and some of their spouses providing an opportunity to make new friends. IWCSS wanted 2023-2024 to start off on a fun note and it definitely did!
