Inner Wheel Club of Taiping (IWC Taiping) held its first project on the 19th of August 2023, headed by President Harbajan Kaur in collaboration with Taiping Soup Kitchen to provide free vegetarian meals for the needy. Soup kitchens are popular means to dispense nutritional food to the underprivileged. IWC Taiping members and volunteers met at 8.30 a.m. at the Gurdwara Taiping, to cut vegetables, cook and pack 350 packets of vegetarian nasi lemak. The cost of the food was fully borne by the club. The packets of food were distributed to the needy for lunch.
Members and volunteers were served breakfast of curry puffs, vegetarian cake and hot masala tea. Members were pleased to have participated in another worthy project.
