A joyful ride to Penang

IWC AS members have been reading and hearing about the latest addition to Penang's transportation network - a more sophisticated and state-of-the-art ferry service that promises unparalleled comfort, convenience, and efficiency to passengers. Four members could not help but plan a trip to find out if this is indeed true.
On 24 August, Rosni, Shan and Padmini boarded the KTM Komuter from the Anak Bukit Station and were joined by Nesa from the Gurun Station. After disembarking at the Butterworth Station, the group took a brisk walk through Penang Sentral to board the ferry.
What members have been hearing about is certainly true. The gang of four found that the air-conditioned ferry has spacious seating areas and offers a breathtaking view of the vast ocean and the island’s magnificent coastline, something that most have been missing since the previous ferry service was discontinued. Just about 10 minutes later, the members were on the island, boarding the free shuttle service into George Town.
The rest of the day was spent like tourists, with a little sight-seeing, lots of shopping, and partaking in the gastronomical delights that Penang is famously known for. In the evening, the four members made their way back, this time, their strides showing more confidence albeit a slight fatigue, which was totally expected as the four had been on their feet literally for several hours.
This new ferry service is something that Malaysians can be proud of. Although the four have been to Penang so many times before, this time, it was not just about embarking on a journey – the members were literally immersing themselves in a modern-day travel adventure. The ferry ride is a delightful experience all on its own.
Today, IWC AS helped to promote the magical island of Penang, beckoning tourists to come and visit this beautiful pearl of the orient.
