President Shanthi Shanmugam, IW District 330 and Club member Sellam Murugiah of the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Butterworth raised the fund to support nine-year old Taekwondo enthusiast Kuberan Gunalan of SJK(T) Ramathasar in Sungai Pinang who needed funds to participate in the prestigious ITF Open World Cup Malaysia 2023 tournament in Melaka from 31st Aug to 1st Sept 2023.

Puan Sellam met up with Kuberan and his family and handed over RM 450 to them.

Kuberan proceeded to the tournament and was able to win two bronze medals.

This was gratifying news indeed for IWC Butterworth’s members.
