IWC Subang Selangor held their General meeting for the month of November at Sree Seenu in Petaling Jaya on 18th November 2023. After attending to the official matters of the club, IWCSS had a special guest from Sri Lanka join the members for lunch and fellowship. The visitor was PDC Vijayalakshmi Keetheswaran from IWC Colombo Midtown, District 322. Viji as she is called has been with Inner Wheel for nearly three decades. She spoke about some of the meaningful projects that her club was involved in and the difficulties they faced with Sri Lanka’s current economic situation. Sri Lanka is slowly recovering from recession and hard times, and projects funded by donors are specially affected by the slowdown. It has been a struggle for IWC Colombo Midtown to sustain some of their ongoing commitments. IWCSS has begun a dialogue on how the club can support one of their projects and contribute towards renovations and repairs. Members are hopeful that apart from just extending the financial support, a trip to Sri Lanka to visit the facility will also materialize in 2024. Best wishes to IWC Colombo Midtown.
