Inner Wheel District Chairman 330 Official visit

The Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth warmly welcomed District Chairman (DC) Kamala A. Yeap of Inner Wheel District 330 for her official visit on Sunday, 19th November 2023, at 4 pm at Sri Ananda Bhawan Restaurant, Bagan Ajam, Butterworth. Of the fifteen club members who attended, nine were charter members and they were especially happy to meet DC Kamala, as she was the driving force behind the setting up of the club in 2019.

All Inner Wheel protocols such as the lighting of the Candle of Friendship and other decorum were adhered to. President Shanthi K Shanmugam chaired the meeting and Club Secretary Dr Lalitha Ramasamy presented the beautiful slides she had prepared depicting the club’s various activities.

DC Kamala in her speech thanked all present for their gracious attendance and praised the club for its dedication to Inner Wheel’s ideals.

Lawyer Wong Vi Vian was inducted into the club in true Inner Wheel style as her former teacher and Club ISO Aasha Nambiar who introduced her watched proudly.

DC Kamala was presented with a diamond-studded canvas depicting the current IIW theme of ‘Shine A Light’. A vegetarian cake was organised for her as her birthday was just the previous day. She was also presented with a gift of a beautiful silk saree to commemorate the celebration.

There was much camaraderie and laughter, especially during the photography session that followed. The meeting concluded with fellowship over hi-tea which everyone enjoyed thoroughly.
