A lunch to remember

An annual celebration of Deepavali has always been the tradition of Inner Wheel Club of Subang Selangor. It is a time when official matters of the club are put aside, and members gather for a sumptuous lunch to relax, banter and enjoy each other’s company. All such gatherings throughout the year include the spouses. Many shy away from being in the midst of a raucous crowd of women, but there are a few who brave it. December 3rd was no exception. The girls arrived dressed in their ‘Deepavali’ best, and the men deciding not to compete strolled in their casual shirt sleeves.

The 10-course Chinese ‘banquet’ was held at Lake Club on the 3rd of December 2023, and after a glass or two of cabernets and chardonnays, the ladies got going. It was photography galore by District Extension Chair Shanthi Menon and in-house photographer, Krishnaveni could not resist clicking away. Some of the spouses stepped in to ensure that a few group pictures could be captured.
Course after course of tasty food arrived having the members a little worried as to when it was going to stop. But they did justice to the food, and the meal ended with two delicious desserts.
The year is coming to an end, and it’s the holiday season. So time to wind down, reflect, and remind ourselves of the importance of friendship and the happiness it brings.
