An Adventure In Perlis
On 3 February 2024, a quartet of spirited explorers from IWC AS set forth on a road trip to Perlis, the petite gem of Malaysia. The adventure kicked off at the delightful d’Ulang Kopi Cafe, where the iconic nasi lemak and steamed tapioca with jaggery and coconut, were all washed down with a cup of robust local coffee.
The expedition continued to the enchanting Timah Tasoh lake, a man-made reservoir boasting breathtaking vistas of lush greenery and rolling hills, sparking excitement among the foursome. The highlight was the lively Padang Besar market, a vibrant hub teeming with local treasures, mouthwatering cuisine, and a kaleidoscope of fruits. The shopping spree included the irresistible steamed pulut with harum manis mangoes, unanimously declared among the best in the world.
The journey unfolded with stops at the Kota Kayang Museum, a captivating journey through Perlis’ history, and Kampung Warna Warni, a charming fishing village adorned in lively colours. Culinary delights awaited in Kuala Perlis, where the four ladies delighted in the flavours of laksa and other delectable treats, leaving taste buds tingling.
As the quartet headed home, a serene reflection settled in, realizing that Malaysia’s diverse offerings provide enriching experiences without breaking the bank. The road trip not only uncovered the country’s hidden gems but also solidified the bonds forged during this delightful expedition.
