Celebrating the Election of Juanita Lee as the International Board Director

Thirty-sixmembers of Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) organized a celebratory lunch at the Peranakan Restaurant in Bangsar on 17 April 2024 to commemorate the election of Juanita Lee as the International Board of Director 2024-25. Guest of Honour, Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Hjh Dr Aishah Ong graciously accepted the invitation to share the joyous moment.

It was a very moving moment when President Rani delivered a beautiful speech to herald the occasion before lunch was served. She spoke about how proud IWCKL was to have an International Board Director after eleven years in our midst once again. Juanita Lee joined IWCKL in 1996 and was President from 2002/2003 and then went on to become the District Chairman in 2012/2013. Other feathers to her cap include the roles of National Representative and District Extension Chairman.

In 1987 the first Inner Wheel Representative was Charter District Chairman the late Dr Bakshish Singh, followed by IWCKL’s evergreen To’ Puan Lam Leepin. The IIW Representative is now known as National Representative. IWCKL continues to go from strength to strength in our history with the contributions from the following ladies serving as the IIW Board of Directors:
A) Mrs Jessie Wang 2001-2003
B) Datin Ainol Ramli 2012-2013
C) The Late Joy Sundram 2013-2014
D) Mrs Juanita Lee 2024-2025

IWCKL indeed is very proud of the election of Juanita Lee as the International Board Director.

The Peranakan food was not just bursting with flavours and colours, it was simply delicious. Juanita Lee, in appreciation of the unstinting support from her fellow members, brought a Jelly Cake which complemented the distinct Peranakan interpretations of food.
