Food Bank (on-going project)
The Food Bank Project initiated by Kelab Inner Wheel Johor Bahru (IWCJB) embodies this spirit, offering a beacon of hope to those facing hardships in our community.
This on-going project took place again on 18th April 2024. A tragedy struck a single mother and her four children when their home was burnt, leaving them destitute and without any possessions. Recognizing the urgency of their situation, Vice President Seema rallied the members of IWCJB to come to their aid.
Embracing the ethos of “Help people even if you know they can’t help you back,” the members of IWCJB, particularly Latha and Vindhu, responded wholeheartedly by contributing funds to purchase groceries for the distressed family. Their collective effort not only provided essential sustenance but also served as a lifeline during a time of profound despair.
The remaining balance fund raised was utilized to procure Lotus vouchers for another family in need at Batu Pahat community. Led by Vindhu, the distribution was executed seamlessly, reaffirming the club’s steadfast commitment to supporting those facing adversity.
By extending a helping hand, they instilled a sense of hope and resilience in those grappling with adversity, empowering them to take the first step towards rebuilding their lives.
The Food Bank Project serves as a testament to our collective capacity to make a meaningful impact, one compassionate act at a time.
