Sekolah Semangat Maju, Taiping Food Fair 2024
On 21st April 2024, amidst amazing weather, IWC Taiping participated in the Charity Sale organised by Sekolah Semangat Maju(SSM).The event was graced by OBJ Larut, Matang & Selama,YA Bhg. Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan Dato Hj Wan Mohd Isa bin Dato Hj.Wan Mohd Razali and SSM President Mr.Joseph Lau Tee Sun. SSM opened its gates to NGOs and others who were willing to assist them by setting up stalls in its vicinity.
SSM was a hive of activity with good samaritans helping out in the sales of beverages, food, delicacies and handicrafts. The IWCT members, clad in club T-shirts rose up to the occasion, handling the task with utmost diligence and dedication. Everyone ended up with smiles as the 200 savoury chicken pies specially made by Ipoh Bakery were snapped up by 9.17 am. Each pie was sold at RM 8 and the proceeds will go to SSM, Taiping. In appreciation, SSM gave away certificates of participation to the NGOs and others who had set up stalls. IWCT President, Harbajan Kaur and Vice President Dr. Karen Jeet Kaur took this opportunity to thank all those who assisted IWCT, namely Ipoh Bakery for the lovely pies, the samaritans who supported this event and the members who served with smiles.
