A Night Of Elegance And Scintillating Splendour: Celebrating The Margarette Golding Award


On 27 July 2024, IWC AS hosted a memorable evening at the Grand Alora Hotel in Alor Setar to celebrate Her Highness Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah, receiving the Margarette Golding Award (MGA).

Guests entered a beautifully decorated ballroom with a red and gold theme, showcasing an ambience of regal splendour. Each of the 270 guests received a door gift and a souvenir programme book, setting the tone for the night’s celebration.

Her Highness arrived to a warm welcome with a bouquet of lilies presented by IIW Past Board Director, Datin Pearl Jai Mohan. As soon as Her Highness was seated, the evening began with a captivating welcome dance and a speech by Organising Chairman Padmini.

Guests then were treated to a sumptuous feast accompanied by soothing music. President Rosni Bakar delivered a poignant speech, emphasizing the significance of the MGA and Her Highness’ achievements. The MGA pin was presented by President Rosni, and the certificate by Immediate Past President Tunku Munirah, witnessed by District Vice Chairman Jillian Estrop.

In her acceptance speech, Her Highness expressed heartfelt gratitude, embodying the spirit of service the MGA represents. The night also featured a surprise birthday celebration for Her Highness, with a cake, a gift, and a bouquet of flowers.

The evening concluded with a photo session, capturing cherished memories of this extremely special day. The event was indeed a celebration of service, and the indomitable spirit of IWC AS, resonating with the theme, “Heartbeat of Humanity – Every Beat Counts, Every Action Matters”.
