Bannerette Exchange and Tea between IWC Kuala Lumpur and IWC Sivakasi, India
On 30 th July 2024 DISO Merlin Gasper organised a Meet-Up for Bannerette Exchange and Tea with a guest from Inner Wheel India, Ms Renganayagi (ISO IWC Sivakasi India).
IWCKL was represented by ISO Yoke Ling, IWC KL North by President Sarojinibai and Assistant Secretary Yoges, IWC KLCC by ISO Catherine and Pearl of Orient Penang by DISO Merlin and Sanny Mok.
It was a friendly meeting where ISO Renganayagi talked about her district and club. The symbols on her bannerrette were also explained. Sivakasi is from an industrial town in India, famous for the manufacturing of match sticks.
In Sivakasi, ISOs of Inner Wheel Clubs compete to collect as many bannerrettes as possible. The clubs are proud of the bannerrettes and display them for members to appreciate.
As there was an ISO training after the tea, the meeting had to end for the ISOs to return home to prepare for the training. It was a happy meeting and the clubs are connected by forging friendship across the ocean.
