IWCKL Fellowship Trip To Penang


The morning of Sunday, 25 August 2024 dawned bright and clear. 24 members of the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) embarked on the first Fellowship Trip to attend the Installation dinner of IWC Penang, of which the former is the mother club.

Midway, the members were all completely floored by an unexpected lunch invitation at a Michelin-starred restaurant, Auntie Gaik Lean’s Old School Eatery, compliments of an esteemed senior member. The members had fill, till there was no more room for more! Heartfelt appreciation to Datin Linda.

In the evening, clad in sarung kebayas the members headed for Marriot by the Courtyard. The ladies performed the rousing and colourful ‘ Mari Gelek’ dance which got many from the floor twirling away with their scarves. Congratulations to IWC Penang for such a delightful evening.

The shopping stops at Pulau Tikus and Chow Rasta Road were a must. It was more like ‘see-don’t think- just buy’! Then it was lunch at Joy 6 Club organised by the host, with a mouth - watering array of Nyonya dishes.

After dinner in Ipoh, home beckoned. Warmest thanks to our Organiser, Past President Linda Lim and Coach Director PP Margaret for such a successful heartwarming Fellowship Trip. Here’s to more of them!
