Deepavali project
On Sunday, 6th October 2024, four members of the Inner Wheel Club of Butterworth conducted the Club’s Deepavali project when they handed over necessities requested by a home for people with special needs. Word reached the Club about Pusat Jagaan Orang Tua Kurang Upaya, Sungai Bakap’s wish-list which included matresses, pillows, storage drawers, diapers, cleaning implements and such. The twenty five occupants of the home and its three caretakers were full of gratitude for the timely donations which were acquired through the generous contributions from the five year old club’s twenty four members. President Shanthi Shanmugam assured continued support for the home in future as well. She had a long discussion with the operator of the home about the background of the residents and some of the challenges the operator faced. President Shanthi was accompanied by Vice President Sharmni Ramiah, District 330’s Secretary and Club Charter President Lucy Barrock and Charter Member Sornakumari Dhurairaj.
