Deepavali project


Nothing like a heartwarming project to get the festivities started. Therefore, since Deepavali, the Festival of Lights will be upon IWCKL soon, the members decided to bless 26 students from B40 families of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Bukit Darah, Sungai Buloh with 26 Cash vouchers (worth RM 420 each for grocery - shopping), Nasi Briyani lunch, backpacks, water tumblers, cupcakes, goodie packs, chess set, and even ‘angpows’ for all these students.

A good school with an enrolment of 151 students, self-sufficient, and had won several awards for their Science inventions. 7 members of IWCKL who visited, were only too happy to do their bit to bring huge smiles on the faces of these 26 pupils. Even their parents wore wide toothy grins! Their Assistant Principal was effusive with her thanks, remarking that it had been a long while since an organisation had come forth with such meaningful gifts right before Deepavali.

Pasaraya Best’s (a huge supermarket in the vicinity) owner, Mr Gopal, an alumnus of the school, together with his two successful sons, is ever grateful and supportive of SJKT Bukit Darah. The Project Coordinator, PP Navam collaborated with him to supply the laminated vouchers for ease of purchase.
The morning ended on a high note, with a lovely lunch sponsored by Mr Gopal.

Again, this project would not have been so successful if not for the generosity of spirit of all members of IWCKL. And to the Project Coordinator, and all the Hindu members, thank you for going the distance for these students .
