Conclusion To Rise Against Hunger Project
In early September, the Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) participated in Rise Against Hunger Project (RAH). These last few days, the club saw the culmination of all our efforts.
All 138 cartons containing packed nutritious meals have been distributed to 130 Orang Asli families around Kg Pematang Pauh in the vicinity of Pekan, Pahang. There was a sense of urgency to get the food distributed to these folks due to the onset of the monsoon season. Besides, access roads too may be impassable to vehicles. IWCKL only had to account for the transportation cost from the Klang Valley to the above villages.
But the impact is tremendous. Were floods to strike, at least with these ready-to-cook wholesome meals, these villagers need not go hungry while waiting for relief boats to come in.
This signals too, the end of the RAH project. IWCKL wishes to record its heartfelt appreciation to all involved, without whom this amazing Project would not have been possible.
