The Lighthouse – A place of Hope
On 29th Oct 2024 IWC Penang sponsored meals (tea and dinner) at The Lighthouse, a community centre for the needy and marginalized. This was the first service project carried out by IWC Penang for the term.
The Lighthouse runs a soup kitchen and provides meals from Monday to Friday to those
in need of food. The clients come from different walks of life. Tea and dinner were served at 4pm and 5pm respectively. A total of RM 1,406.60 was collected from the members, and an additional RM 500 was allocated from the club’s charity fund.
140 goody bags were prepared and distributed to the clients during dinner.
7 members from IWC Penang were present for this programme. Elizabeth Attew, a member of IWC Chelmsford Mildmay, was in attendance at the program.
