Christmas Project and Fellowship 2024


On the 27th November 2024, The Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur (IWCKL) hosted a heart-warming Christmas Project/Fellowship at the Infant Jesus Convent for the Nuns, bringing joy and festive cheer to 39 retired nuns and 10 helpers.

Dressed in vibrant Christmas colours, IWCKL members entertained the audience with a delightful Nyonya Gelek Gelek dance, followed by a high-energy Rock and Roll performance. The festive mood was further amplified by a carolling session led by the IWCKL members, creating an early Christmas atmosphere.

A sumptuous Christmas lunch served by IWCKL members featured a delectable spread of dishes ranging from traditional roast leg of lamb to local favourites like chee cheong fun, roast chicken and many other varieties. The huge spread was complemented by a selection of authentic Nyonya kueh, all generously sponsored by IWCKL members.

To enhance the festive spirit, IWCKL members personally served the meal and engaged in warm conversations with the nuns, fostering a sense of camaraderie and early Christmas cheer.

In addition to the entertainment and feast, IWCKL members generously donated essential items to the convent, including boxes of adult diapers, a washing machine and daily necessities like food and toiletries.

To add a personal touch, individual members also presented ang pows and other gifts to the nuns, spreading joy and blessings for the upcoming Christmas season.

This annual Christmas project exemplifies IWCKL’s commitment to performing community service and spreading goodwill. By bringing smiles to the faces of the nuns at Infant Jesus Convent, the club has truly captured the essence of the festive season.
