IWC AS Supports The “Orange The World” Campaign


From 25 November to 10 December 2024, Inner Wheel District 330 has been unyielding in its commitment to the Orange the World Campaign, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and uniting efforts to end violence against women and girls.

The Inner Wheel Club of Alor Setar (IWC AS) joined these efforts to make a difference. The Club decided to contribute to the Women’s Aid Organization (WAO) in Petaling Jaya, an establishment dedicated to providing shelter and support for battered women and girls.

On 3 December 2024, a mock cheque presentation ceremony took place, led by IWC AS Secretary Padmini, and witnessed by District Chairman Vimala, National Representative Shanti, International Inner Wheel Board Director Juanita and PNR Parimala.

The IW team was warmly received by Nazreen from WAO, who shared an overview of their work. While it was devastating to learn of the harrowing experiences faced by the women, it was equally heartening to know that WAO provides a lifeline of hope and healing.

Though modest, this donation symbolizes IWC AS’s unwavering dedication to advocating for change and spreading awareness about violence against women, with the hope it will serve as a small yet meaningful ray of hope to the women and children at WAO.

IWC AS remains steadfast in its commitment to this cause and pledges to continue its efforts to create a world where every woman and girl can live free from violence. IWC AS will continue to keep the heartbeat of humanity alive—because every beat counts, and every action matters.
