Indrani Karuppiah inducted


With “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” playing on the minds of all who attended, members from Inner Wheel Club Subang Selangor (IWCSS) dressed in white tops, walked into Club Charter member and NR Shanti Menon’s exquisitely decorated and spacious bungalow in Country Heights on December 15th 2024, all set for a day of fellowship and celebration. A super-duper and gracious host as always, NR already had laid out the appetisers and pre-lunch delicacies for members as they arrived. A loaded cheese board with fruit, vegetarian mushroom pies and crackers with dips were quickly devoured by most who didn’t have time for breakfast.

Soon it was time for the new member welcome. Excited to induct and welcome Indrani, Club Advisor and PDISO Sumodhini followed the IW protocols to the tee. NR lit the Candle of Friendship which was then followed by all members reciting the Candle of Friendship poem. With induction formalities adhered to, PNR Parimala, presented Indrani with a pretty bouquet of white lilies to bring the ceremony to a closure. IWCSS warmly welcomes Indrani to the Club and to the District 330.

And now for the fun part and fellowship. As it was a potluck party, the table was filled with dishes to make one drool. Vegetarian Briyani, succulent chicken sambal, mutton dalcha, spicy prawn sambal, yummy fish and veg cutlets, variety of salads and raita. Everyone tucked in and went for seconds and thirds. The much-awaited Secret Santa session continued and the chatter and glee in receiving gifts just took the celebration to the next level.

Next on the menu was a fun game of Pass the Parcel and peals of laughter filled the room. Even with so much food already consumed but by now partially digested, it was time for tea / coffee with sandwiches, pani-puri and pineapple tarts. But by now, time was of concern, being a Monday and given the distance from PJ and KL, it was time to leave after 5.00pm. What a lovely day it had been. Literally a grand finale to the first 6 months under President Rani’s stewardship. So much achieved and more to look forward to. Time to say goodbye to 2024 as this would be the last gathering for the year. Happy New Year everyone and season’s greetings to all

Sincere appreciation to NR who opened up her house to the Club, to Sumo who managed Indrani’s Induction and to Dr Kris and her team for successfully handling the fun part of the celebration and a huge thank you to all members who helped make it big and meaningful.
