Renewing friendship link with the Inner Wheel Club of San Fernando La Union, Philippines

In January 2023, IWCSS signed a sisterhood agreement for a period of 2 years with IWCSFLU in Kuala Lumpur when members of IWCSFLU came over to Malaysia. This association was mooted by PNR (Past National Representative) Parimala Satheesan of IWCSS and PNP (Past National President of IWC Philippines) Mary Jane Ortega.

It is now IWCSS turn to reciprocate a visit to the Philippines renew this partnership. 8 members of IWCSS left for Manila on February 20th 2025. Our sisters at IWCSFLU meticulously planned an amazing 4 days of activity that would give an insight to their dedication and passion as they adhere to the mottos of International Inner Wheel.

PNP Mary Jane Ortega (from SFLU) and Secretary of the Club, Elaine Samson were at the airport to receive the team from IWCSS with a banner and after a lovely meal we set off for a 4-hour drive to SFLU. After dinner members checked into their hotel.

The next day, for the signing ceremony, IWCSFLU organized a fellowship dinner at Awesome Hotel in San Fernando. It started off with the Inner Wheel prayer being recited by PP Julie Lim followed by the playing of the National Anthem of both Malaysia and Philippines. The signing of the Sisterhood Agreement by President Christine Joy and ISO Phaulyne Bolong of IWCSFLU and President Rani Mohan and ISO Rema Menon of IWCSS was witnessed by NR of D330 and 331, Shanti Menon and Dr. Jeisela Gaerlan, First National Vice President, Inner Wheel Club of the Philippines. The President of IWC Metro Valenzuela, Ms Pinky Dayta and members were guests at this dinner.

This was indeed an evening to cherish where IW sisterhood across borders continues to strengthen as we share a bond of committed women, bound by friendship and dedicated to selfless service to humanity.
